Welcome! -
Walk in the front door and one of the first things that crosses your mind (besides, "Wow, this place looks great") is, "Wow, this place doesn't SMELL like a Vet's office!" -
Both the front and the rear entrances guide you into our waiting area. -
Our V.I.P. (Very Important Pets) Lounge can comfortably accommodate up to 15 guests and we have rooms sized from Yorkies to Great Danes. All guests are constantly monitored by security cameras and, of course, our staff. -
We have 26 HD security cameras on the property, displayed 16 at a time in the Receptionist's room. We maintain a minimum of 14 days of video from each camera. -
Exam Room 1
Here's where we really begin to separate ourselves from the vast majority of clinics in the Mid-South. Our exam rooms are second to none! Yes, that's a 42" HD TV at the head of the exam table. On it, we can display patient records, digital x-rays, lab test results, ultrasounds, and other information - all real-time - which allows our Vets to clearly explain what we think is happening with your family member. -
Exam Room 1 Left Side
All three of our Exam Rooms are basically the same. Exam 3, as you will see in a moment, is a little larger with more cabinet space and a sink. All have four sizes of gloves, hand sanitizer dispensers.
-
Exam Room 2
Each exam room is also equipped with an operating room, ceiling-mounted lights that provide high intensity, variable brightness lighting, and 10 power lighted magnifiers giving our Vet's lighting and acuity for examinations unmatched short of Hospital environments. Additionally, each exam room has a 14", 7 parameter vital signs monitor.
-
Exam Room Supplies
All three exams rooms are stocked with all the supplies anticipated for both normal patients visits and most minor emergencies. Oxygen, breathing bags, and masks both in four different sizes, are available in each room.
-
Exam Room 3
Exam room 3 is a little larger than 1 & 2, giving us the capability of using the room in different ways. First, it is a fully equipped exam room with a larger table better suited for larger breeds. Second, it is used as a surgery prep room and we can easily reconfigure the room for dental cleaning and/or repair using state-of-the-art dental equipment.

Surgery
Barks and Medication is first and foremost a Wellness Clinic. Prevention of disease, infection, and injury is the key to a long and healthy life for your pet. While we would much rather teach, we know that in spite of owners' best efforts, bad things happen to good dogs and we are proud to have a first-class operating room if surgical intervention should be necessary.

X-Ray & Fluoroscopy
I may stand corrected, but I am virtually certain that we are the only clinic in the Mid-South that has High-Quality Digital X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, and diagnostic Ultrasound in the same building. Having THREE extremely powerful tools and if needed, access to immediate expert verification of our staff's diagnoses, puts us in a unique position to help your pet!
-
Anesthesia & Isolation
On the left, our anesthesia machine with its own oxygen concentrator and vital signs monitor. Center and Right - our isolation room - another absolutely unique part of Barks! Again, short of hospital settings, you will not find a negative air pressure room with its own air circulation and sophisticated U.V. light system that kills virtually all viruses and bacteria. No air from our isolation room ever reaches any other part of the clinic, keeping our other guests safe from exposure.
