Project Description

Barks and Medication  is one of VERY FEW Veterinary Hospitals offering experienced care for exotic pets. So, what is an “Exotic” pet? By definition, it is any animal that is not commonly owned but can be domesticated and kept by an owner. The term can apply to a  wide variety of animals: birds, rodents (hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, mice), rabbits, ferrets, reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises), amphibians (frogs, toads), sugar gliders (marsupials), hedgehogs, potbellied pigs, and even spiders. Many people who live in urban environments want pets who are smaller and, theoretically at least, require less maintenance. As our urban population has increased, exotic pet ownership has grown dramatically. Veterinary care for exotics requires special training, experience and equipment. Check, check and check!
